Booking agent and artist development

Are you a solo musician or band wanting to make money from performances? We can help you get started!

Our booking agent can work with you to make sure you are gig-ready, then find you an appropriate paid gig to get you started.

Here’s how it works: Once you submit the application form, our booking agent will make an appointment with you to get to know you or your band, and help you set goals and make suggestions if needed to get you ready for paid gigs. Community Music Alliance can help you with anything you might need at that point, such as producing a quality demo recording, helping you set up and promote social media, or getting you the equipment you need.

Our agent will then work with you to match you to a suitable available gig – you may be given several options, so that you can choose a gig you’re comfortable with. CMA is happy to support your gig by lending equipment, instruments, a sound engineer, or extra musicians – all at no charge.

The booking agent will take care of most aspects of the deal including collecting payment from the venue, leaving you free to concentrate on what you love doing – making music.

How much does it cost? There are no up-front charges to get you ready for gigging. Donations to CMA are welcomed, since CMA is paying the agent a monthly stipend.

Once you have completed a gig through the agent and payment has been received, the agent will take a small cut of the fee. This will be minimal, since CMA is subsidizing the work of the agent.

What areas do we cover? We’re able to help musicians and bands located in the Louisville KY and southern Indiana areas, as well as areas a little further out such as Elizabethtown.

I’m not sure I’m good enough to do a gig yet – should I sign up? Absolutely! We’ll help and encourage you – you might be better than you believe.

I’m an established musician/band who is already getting gigs – can I sign up for the service? Yes, you can. Our priority is to help those that haven’t yet started gigging, but we’re happy to help out more established artists as time allows.

I’m a venue looking for live music. Can you help? Definitely! We can work with even the smallest budgets to find you a musician or band. Contact Alisha at alisha@communitymusicalliance.com.
