Recording 101 (6-week course)
This Recording Workshop series will take you from a recording beginner to being able to stream your own music. Led by Patrick Hume, a professional audio engineer, this series will be a hands-on learning experience that will walk you through all the steps of music recording. This is a perfect course for you if are a singer songwriter, or have an interest in recording your own music at home! Patrick will teach you all the basics of music recording and give you tips that will set you up for success if you go to record in a professional music studio.

Series #2 – Battling Performance Anxiety (5-week course)
Do you find yourself feeling panicky in lessons or on stage? This workshop is perfect for you! Led by musician and board-certified music therapist Jenny Branson, this workshop will help you build strategies and skills that are tailored to you and that will help you navigate performance anxiety. Join us for this 5-week course that will not only give you strategies to help minimize performance anxiety, but also give you an opportunity to try using them in a mini concert at the end of the series.

What do these workshops cost? We at CMA believe that music should be available to everyone. As such, we do not charge for these workshops, but offer them on a voluntary, anonymous donation basis. Suggested donation for those that can manage is $7-10 per student per 1 hour workshop. If you cannot afford that amount, it’s ok, we are still very happy to have you as a student. We encourage you to just donate what you can, even if it’s just a couple of coins. Or you can volunteer a couple of hours of your time – just let us know if you’d like to help out. There is a donation box available at the workshop location for cash or check donations, or you can donate online. Note that all donations are tax-deductible.
Do I have to attend all the sessions? Yes! We designed these workshop series in multiple weeks so you can learn as much as possible. We want you to walk away from these workshops confident that you learned something. All participants should be prepared to attend all the sessions for the series they sign up for, unless it is unavoidable (e.g. You are ill). We also strongly encourage you to be on time for each session so the whole class can get the most out of each session!
Where and when are the workshops? Each series will be held on different days and times, and in different locations. Please reference the listings above for the information specific to your workshop.
