Who Are We?
Community Music Alliance was founded in New Albany in 2016 with the goal to eliminate barriers to music in Kentuckiana. We believe that everyone should have equal access to the opportunity to learn, play and enjoy music regardless of financial situation and personal connections. We have access to professionals in many areas and can help educate and connect at no charge. Our programs include group lessons programs for a variety of instruments, loaner instruments for lessons, recording studio, rehearsal space, a community orchestra, a community choir, free concerts, and more! Our goal is to do whatever it takes to continue to provide musical opportunities to everyone in our community.
What Do We Do?
At Community Music Alliance, we believe that music is for everyone, not just for those that can afford it or know the right people. Our mission is to make music accessible to everyone by providing the opportunity to learn, play, and grow musically, enriching the lives of those we serve, and the greater community. We are here to assist or direct any musician, aspiring musician or music lover who needs our help to work toward their goals. That’s why we offer all our programs, including music lessons, at no charge. How do we pull this off? It works because we are a community, a family, and we all do what we can to give back, whether in anonymous donations, volunteering, or helping each other. As an organization, we are always looking for new ways to serve our musical community, so if you have or see a need that does not fall under one of our existing programs, let us know! No, there’s no catch. As a community, we can make sure that music is for everyone.
